No! What you can buy here is the Virtual Title Deed to an actual property that exists in real life. People live in these streets, know of these streets; regularly research these streets on the internet and the historical values and events that are associated with them. This makes the site extremely relevant to a highly targeted audience and viable to internet advertisers. It also provides people with the ultimate online gift and something that a neighbour cannot buy. Deed holders also own the exclusive advertising rights to their deed cards so they can make money themselves, should they wish to do so of course. You may register your deeds purely for novelty, retain them as a "long-term" investment or develop them for live trade on the 'OVDAX'. All deed cards will be syndicated within our expanding network of geo sites and those belonging to approved syndication partners.

What exactly are the 'OVDAX' indexes?

The OVDAX is like the FTSE or the NASDAQ except that it exclusively relates to "Virtual Title Deeds". The term 'OVDAX' is an acronym for the (O)riginal (V)irtual (D)eed and (A)utonomous E(x)change. The OVDAX is used by "Virtual Deed Developers", "Deed Brokers" and "Advertisers" to determine the current market value of a Virtual Title Deed. The "OVDAX Indexes", "OVDAX Trading Platform" and its association with "Virtual Title Deeds" is a registered trade mechanism that is protected under several laws in the UK and the US (including copyright). The OVDAX is traded on per category and we are the exclusive license holder for "Streets".

How much is a virtual title deed?

If you purchase the title deed as the "first owner" then it will cost you £5 for a full 5 years online leasehold which works out at exactly £1 per year. If the title deed has already been sold and the lease has been put up for sale by the new owners; expect to pay much more! Some properties have already been re-sold in excess of £6,000.00.

What's online leasehold?

Each lease extends to a full 5 year term "online leasehold" from the date of sale or for the remainder of the lease if you bought the title from a previous owner. This lease is purely to protect us as we can guarantee this site will be here for the duration of your leasehold. After the first 5 years is up you will be invited to renew your lease for the base price only! The base price is just £5 so regardless of the actual market rate of your property deed in the future you will only ever pay £5 to renew your lease for an additional 5 year term.

Which streets can I buy?

Providing the title deed for the street is for sale then you can buy any street located in the United Kingdom which comprises of England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. If you wish to buy US property just click on the US Indexes.

What happens if I lose my Dashboard ID?

From the 1st of January, 2008 all Dashboard ID's can be obtained by viewing the original transaction details in your PayPal Account. This only applies to deeds purchased directly from Street Deeds and not for deeds that have been purchased from a previous owner. If you purchased your deed prior to January the 1st, bought it from a previous owner or you would simply like a complete list of all your Dashboard ID's then please click here to request a full list; supplied in csv format, for your convenience.
